Finally got a reply for my FOI regarding asymptotic positive PCR tests. It appears that the HSE do NOT keep track of anyone who has tested positive who was asymptotic. Not do they know at what no of cycles the tests are called at. Hmm (tweet).
What does a positive result from a PCR test with an unknown number of cycle thresholds mean? It means it does not give us any indication at all as to whether that person is infectious or not.
