‘Sky News host Peter Gleeson has spoken with David Jonsson, a Queensland father who received brain surgery in Sydney and has subsequently been forced into Queensland hotel quarantine despite his doctor recommending he isolates at home. The 32-year-old father is currently recovering from life-saving brain surgery which he received in Sydney, and despite a personal note from his doctor recommending he recover at his home in Queensland, Mr Jonsson was forced into hotel quarantine. “I had a letter from Charlie (the surgeon) stating that I needed to get home, I had a letter from my rehab centre saying also that I needed to get home just because I have the equipment to rehabilitate,” Mr Jonsson said. After Mr Jonsson received a phone call from Queensland health shortly after coming out of ICU, he said “they started asking me questions … at the time their reasoning behind it was that they didn’t think that they could trust me to stay at home.” “When they realised that I had just got out of ICU and I was pretty stressed out … they decided to end it at that point and I didn’t really hear much back after that.”
